Jack Phillips and 30+ other [at that time] slaves were confiscated from the South Carolina coast during the American Revolution by a British privateer, then recaptured and taken into Boston where they remained as free persons. I'm researching this case and would like to find descendants of this group. If you have traced your family to Boston in the 1780s, let's compare notes.
