Does the Slave Market in downtown Fayetteville, NC have names of slaves who were sold? I am trying to find out if there are records of slaves sold there. Were records kept back then?

My gg grandfather, Dublin McLamb, I am told ranaway from Cumberland County and he shows up in the Sampson County census married with children and remained there until his death. Where could I find a Bill of sale/slave records in Cumberland Co.? Thanks very much.
