Now that is in fact most interesting, Art.
My second primary interest is not always knowing where results might emerge and we get a BINGO!. Some of us 'behind the scene laborers' pondered over whether to approve this query. I am so glad we agreed to do so.
My third primary interest [actually the first] is to follow Art Thomas who is the 'champeen seeker and finder' with a purpose who develops resources in previously unrecognized sources. Lo and behold the census is indeed primary in this instance. We will watch this one closely to see whatever RAY and ADAMS connection may develop.
Very interesting!!!! My 2nd great-grandfather, William F. Adams, from Urbana, Ohio is also found enumerated as living in the 2nd Ward of Sacramento, CA in the 1870 Census. I noticed that Lucinda Ray is listed as an 11 y/o and born in California. My ancestor is also listed in the City Directory of Sacramento (1861), so I'm sure he and the RAY's were acquaintances.
