Re: [SC] Berkeley, Barbados connection examined

I too have researched the Barbados-Carolina connection finding out that the Middleton family came from Barbados to the Carolinas in the 1600s. My ancestors were enslaved by the Middleton and Bull families of SC and eventually ended up with Major Pierce Butler who moved his slaves in 1793 to the coastal islands of Georgia (Butlers Island and St. Simons). I have a lists (dating back to 1771) of 400+ slaves living on the Bull Plantations showing how they were to be divided amongst the original owner's (Mary Branford Bull) four granddaughters (one being the wife of Major Butler). I have traced these families through the censuses (some to 1940). I have a lists of Major Butler's slaves (inherited by his grandsons, Pierce Mease Butler and John Butler, that were auctioned off in 1859 during what is known as "The Weeping Time." My great great grandparents and their two older children were sold from Georgia to Natchitoches Parish, LA. I have done tons of research on these slaves.
