A brief history of the St. Paul A.M.E. in Urbana, Ohio as written in the "Beers History of Champaign County - 1881".

Among the church's founding members are maternal 3rd & 4th great grandparents, Lewis & Susan Adams and Susan's parents, Frank &
Rachel Reno.

The Pastor when the current building was completed in 1876 was the Rev. Benjamin Arnett who later becomes an Bishop in the A.M.E. Church and for whom Arnett Hall on the campus of Central State University at Wilberforce, Ohio is named.

The Second Baptist Church shown on page 2 is also an early African American Church in Urbana, Ohio
