Trinity Baptist Church, Conway County, AR

I have the Sunday School minutes of 1917-1918 from Trinity Baptist Church.

I also have just transcribed the history of the church and the church minutes from 1920-1928.

The church was founded in 1914by a group of former residents of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Rev. J.W. Neal served as meeting chairman. A Rev. Wm. Hurt from Mississippi served as secretary at the organizational meeting. His father was from Virginia and his mother was from North Carolina. His wife was Rosie Hurt. Other founders were Dozier Rosser, Henry G.W. Tresvant from South Carolina, and Guyas Langford. The church was organized as Second Baptist Church, changed the name to West Trinity, and finally to Trinity Baptist. The minutes included the rosters from those years as well as financial records.

I plan to donate a copy to the Church and to the local genealogical and historical society.
The minutes were part of my family history records that I located. The Sunday School Secretary in 1918 was my oldest uncle James Roy Cyrus, born in 1898 and the church secretary was my grandfather William Henry Brown, born in 1869. his parents were from Texas and Kentucky.
