Though it may seem painful, --It is time for all of us to start donating important memorabilia to these museums. Believe me it was hard for me to do so, but after viewing a copied reunion book with my parents in them as teenagers, I decided to dust off class reunion pictures, yearbooks and took them to our public school archives in my city. Family may not feel an importance of cataloging all of this stuff we have in our closets. I even gave up my class ring. Now I know if anyone should go on a tour and see these items, my name will be displayed by them and those future generations can brag that ancestors belongings are housed in a special place. I am so grateful to whoever it was that donated these items to museums and historical societies in the past. Without them many of us would be stumbling around in the dark. So take some of those books and pictures to the historical museum and request to talk to the curator. You never know, you may have some very important papers or pictures that the world would like to see. Don't let our past end up in the trash.
