1st African-American Greek letter organization
Lawrenceville, GA (December 30, 2006) - Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, the first African-American Greek letter sorority in Gwinnett County will celebrate 13 years of service on Sunday, January 28, 2007. The chapter will gather for a special and sisterly worship service at Allen Temple United Methodist Church in Buford and then gather for an Anniversary Brunch at Little Gardens Restaurant in Lawrenceville.

Speaking of serving the community, Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter is preparing to launch a new program that embraces the non-traditional entrepreneur in January. This program is designed to empower and encourage African-Americans to think outside the box in terms of entrepreneurship, and to take advantage of resources available to assist in entrepreneurship endeavors.
