The Lessons Of Pilgrim Baptist Church & Preventing The Loss Of Your Heritage' Archival Workshop Scheduled At The DuSable Museum October 9th And October 10th, 2006 CHICAGO, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier this year, fire destroyed the landmark Pilgrim Baptist Church, located on the South Side of Chicago. In addition to the sanctuary itself, the fire also consumed church records, priceless photographs and original sheet music for hundreds of gospel songs written by the legendary Thomas A. Dorsey. The DuSable Museum of African American History in association with the Society of American Archivists will present a two day conference, titled, "Loss ... Healing ... Response ... The Lessons of Pilgrim Baptist Church & Preventing The Loss of Your Heritage."
