CHICAGO, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier this year, fire destroyed the landmark Pilgrim Baptist Church, located on the South Side of Chicago. In addition to the sanctuary itself, the fire also consumed church records, priceless photographs and original sheet music for hundreds of gospel songs written by the legendary Thomas A. Dorsey. The DuSable Museum of African American History in association with the Society of American Archivists will present a two day conference, titled, "Loss ... Healing ... Response ... The Lessons of Pilgrim Baptist Church & Preventing The Loss of Your Heritage." The seminar will take place on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday, October 10th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Museum which is located at 740 East 56th Place (57th Street at South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Chicago's Washington Park.
