I LIKE fried chicken!

I vote in favor of traditional foods at the family reunion! And if your family has a tradition of fried chicken, go for it! With the biscuits and mashed potatos and greens or cole slaw on the side and half a plate of home grown tomatos whoth vineger and salt and pepper. And PIE for dessert1

I enjoy a wide variety of foods .... but the family reunion is a time to get together and celebrate, and if cousin vernon is happier with fried chicken than the thai chicken wrap or the chicken ala whatever, I'd vote with him. Traditional 'home' foods are part of the famiy tradition! THIS is how our grandparents celebrated -- and we can too.

on the other hand, if you have discovered many other things in the ethnic diversity of food available today -- serve them at your private gathering. Introduce people to your current (many times more healthy) favorites.

Home folks want home food!
