I'm currently doing this now. I did it by researching the family tree. I found the long lost siblings and then traced them to their current status (marriage, births, deaths). I've been able to find their children and grandchildren.

Search Whitepages.com for the names you find. Also, a paid ancestry.com subscription has local listings and old address for names you search. I've located at least 25% of my relatives that way.
