I am from Ohio, both my parents passed away over 2years ago and it is with regret that I never asked them valuable information about my family history. I am fortunate to have my grandmother on my mothers side still alive however my dads side remains a bit of a mystery for now, he is from Alabama, Billy Don Thompson, his parents were Reece or spelt Reese Thompson and Mabel Thompson - maiden name unknown. I have a few details of their estimated birth and death dates and I know of one living daughter they have named Emma-Jean, not sure if she got married or if her surname is Thompson? My siblings and I grew up never really seeing my dads family and we never visited Alabama so I have tried searching for my aunt and have had no luck. My dad was African American and now that I have children myself I am very keen to learn and record my African American Roots. I would truly appreciate any help or suggestions anyone could offer.
