Re: FAMILY CHARTS
In Response To: Re: FAMILY CHARTS (L. Kimbrough)
Well I'm a novice at this and the software was purchased by my daughter for this purpose. According the the booklet info, it says Parsons Technology, Family Origins 6.0 for Windows. I can't elaborate in internet talk, but it was purchased as a sale item at one of the Office depots. We also have the family tree software but according to my computer expert this was the best one for my needs. I have been playing around with it a lot by scanning older pictures and placing them next to the names, sending off request for that family unit only, to update information. For the members who I know 'Like to look their best at all times' I place a not so cute picture on their chart. You better believe they start looking for just the right picture to use cause you can't erase them out of a reunion booklet. I try any trick I can short of hurting feelings to make this interesting. I put up to date pictures on the complete chart that I use for my research ONLY. No complete charts will be given out until I have as much information completed by my deadline date, as possible. Then and only then will pictures given to me by family members be permanently placed in a reunion book. Of course I don't tell them that part. Sending a "I NEED YOUR HELP" LETTER WITH EACH CHART to a younger generation seems to be helping.
