I agree with you on one point, family reunions are on the upswing. I disagree with the cause, 911. I think the main reasons are the "baby boomer factor" and the internet. As the post war babies age, and throw in 911, they are becoming more aware of the value of family and family members. Long before 911, the family reunion trend was moving upward. The internet has made it easier to communicate your plans with family members. A few years before 911, everything had to be done by snail mail and phone. Take my family for argument sake. My family has been meeting every two years for the past 30 years. All were great events but it's the last two and the upcoming 2006, have rode the internet. Because of the internet, I was able to trace my family's history all the way back to Africa and post that information on the internet so every family member can enjoy it. I'm a few years short of being a true "baby boomer" but I noted them paying more attention to family matters before 911. 911 changed a lot of things but 911 is not the sole cause for every change.
