I've never discussed hurricane protection provisions with a hotel, but you bet it's on all of our minds! Key West got hit with 4 hurricanes this past season, and the Bahamas is also notoriously in hurricane alley. Since our reunion is in Nassau this summer, we'll all be keeping an eye on the weather. We appear to be in an active hurricane cycle, so no matter where it's scheduled (Florida or the Bahamas), we all have to be on the look-out.

I think you all got a good deal for your reunion, having your hotel agree to refund in the event of a threatening storm. I'll have to mention it to the organizers for our reunion to see whether we can get a similar deal.
