You said that the "family" wants to limit the number of guests. Is it only a few people who want to bring guests or is that number increasing? Have you taken a survey (formal or informal) to see how the majority feels about that? If money is not an issue, have you considered getting a larger place so that everyone can attend? I'd hate for you to lose people who enjoy attending the reunion just because they can't bring a guest.
