I thank you greatly for sharing your story. I pray that you continue to heal.
Your story meant so much to me, and I will, with your permission print it and share it with some family. Both sides of my family are amazingly HUGE! While working to put together a gathering (at the request of some family members) for the decendants of my great-grandmother, one of my cousins (in his 50s) told me that we younger relatives (I'm 31) didn't have a right to expect to know our family. I was utterly disgusted by his attitude, and in let him know that we did indeed have a right to know this. Due to my grandfather and his siblings having various fallings out when my Mom and her first cousins were young, very few of us know each other past 'that's my cousin' and being able (in most cases) to say just how that is so. There are a few of us trying to change that for this particular line.
Reading your story just re-iterates this for me. I can't tell you how much I deeply appreciate you sharing it. (((Alice))).
