We've been talking a lot about this in the Main Forum on this site.

My opinion is that I will not hide, for any reason, someone's past and I won't lie to the family because someone doesn't want it to be discovered. There is freedom in providing that information for someone. I have hardly encountered this in my genealogical walk, but do realize that others may have to deal with this more than I do.

Do what your heart tells you to do. You will never go wrong!
