I have been to and seen family reunions from a low scale to a very high upscale. The question that I ponder is, "When is a family reunion called a family reunion?"

- Is it a few family members meeting at a desinated point having fun at desinated places?
- Is it a planned event that includes mailing list, fees, programs, events, etc.?
- Is it family members that found each other meeting for the first time?
- Is it a big family dinner where folks meet who haven't seen each other in years?

I ask because I have heard all four of the above called "family reunions." Does the planning, money, t-shirts, events, number of people, etc make it a "family reunion?" I know that all of last statement is all part of a family reunion, but when do you call it a family reunion?

I'm not douibting what a family reunion is, but only when do you call it a family reunion. I'm sure that there is a definition for "family reunion" somewhere, but I just wanted to throw it out there to see what everyone else had to say what it is.
