According to the Travel Industry Association of America, 34 percent of U.S. adults trekked to family reunions between 2000 and 2002. And while specific figures on minority reunion spending are not available, minority groups spent a total of about $90 billion on domestic travel in 2002, about 19 percent of the travel market.
Eager to tap into the market, some hotel chains, such as the Marriott, Hilton and Wyndham, now offer family reunion packages.
