Reunion At The Newly Found Grave Site
I have such amazing news!
Three family members have pooled our knowledge and found the grave site for our great grandfather, THOMAS SHAW SWAN.
All these years, family legend had us believing that he was boried in Oregon (it's a loooog story) let's just say sometimes our ancestors don't tell us things for reasons clear to them at the time.
Now, 40 years later, we discover THOMAS and this generation is delighted!
I think THOMAS knew that we would find him some day, he is probably smiling down on us right now.
He is buried right here in California - about 25 minutes/one hour away from all of us! We now have the cemetery, plot number etc.
We are planning to have a Visit To The Site amd invite all of the family members, young and old.
As of right now, we are going to have it very low key. We'll meet for lunch at a place near to the Cemetery, have the young SWAN members make/bring bouquets for his grave and then go over TO THE CEMETERY and ENJOY!
Of course we'll take pictures and we'll probably make a FAMILY TREE to distribute to everybody.
Can you think of anything else that would be meaningful.
Oh, our main purpose is to inspire the young ones to carry on making the family connections.
