I'd prefer the peel and stick. I think cost wise, they are the most effective. Pre-printed works best with these, and you can always bring extras with a marker for people that register after you've printed.

I'd probably put something on the badge that looked something like this:

First Name Last Name
City (Where they live now)
Descendant of...(Who they are a descendant of)
