The 25th Annual Kinfolks Celebration honoring the descendants of Henry Smith, Sr. and Keziah (Sallywhite) Smith of Yazoo County, Mississippi will be held at Mt. Airy Park located in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 16, 2005. Henry and Keziah Smith were the parents of twelve children:

Lydia Smith Carter, born 1869 & married Willie Carter
Henry Smith, Jr., born 1874 & married Malissa Edwards
John Smith,Sr., born 1876 & married Fannie Washington
Wesley Smith, Sr., born 1877 & married Lula Miles
Turner Smith, born 1879 & married Lucy Woolfolk
Randolph Smith. Sr., born 1881 & married Mary Woolfolk
Palmetto Smith Jones, born 1883 (twin) & married Augustus Jones
James Smith, born 1883 (twin)
Lena Smith Jones, born 1885 & married Joseph Jones
George Smith, born 1888 & married Annie Holt
Nathan Smith, born 1889 & married Lorenza Weathers

From the original twelve Smith children of Henry and Keziah Smith, 82 grandchildren were born and continued the family lines of the Smith family. In the early 1920s, the Smith family was forced off their land due to a threat on Uncle Wesley Smith's life and that of the family. The family left Yazoo County, Mississippi by train at night over several days and migrated north to Cincinnati, Ohio.

The family gathers every year for a huge family celebration and to have fun in the park. Please come and join in on our celebration of faith, love, and kinship.
