I just got a lovely reply from the local news by email.
They said for me to email them the photos and the story.
I will do that today.

Yesterday I checked with the Historical Society in the area to see if they though my wording was accurate etc. regarding the marriages. My g g grandparents had a slave marriage and then had it recorded in the county court house in 1866.

I also asked for other suggestions since I wanted to be "politically correct" for the town.

The Society representative was extremely nice and gave me some excellent ideas!
