How exciting to be planning your first big reunion! There are some great tips on this message board, and everyone is always happy to help, so I'm sure you'll get lots of great suggestions.
As for your printed keepsake program, I've found that a really nice one will need to be typeset professionally, or at least by someone who knows what they're doing. Your inexperienced Cousin So-And-So might offer to do it for free, but unless you're comfortable with his/her skill level, get it done professionally so you have something worthy of honoring your family. Don't mean to sound harsh, but you mentioned that you want a really nice keepsake, so I thought I'd be frank.
Also, you might want to include things like your family scripture (we've used Psalms 133:1 many times), your family tree, a list of recent accomplishments by family members (we've called ours either the "Allen Family Honor Roll" or simply "Milestones"), a copy of your family history (ask one of your elders to write it if you don't already have it done), a schedule of reunion events, letters of congratulations/welcome from your community's elected officials, and reunion poems (Maya Angelou's is a standard). To offset the cost of producing the booklet, we sell ad space to family members and local businesses. You'd be surprised how fast your ads sell when family members can use the space to priint family photos, honor deceased relatives or advertise their businesses or accomplishments such as graduations. We sold a full page for $100, half page for $50, and quarter page ad for $25.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more suggestions! ;-)
