Well guys, haven't posted in a while but I wanted to let you all know that we had the Henry and Minnie Hundley Davis 35th Family Reunion about two weeks ago and a wonderful time was had by all. We had a meet and greet night on Friday night where we had cold cuts, chips, and drinks available. The DJ played well into the night as those of us who chose to arrive Friday night checked into the hotel and then headed straight toward the room for fun and frolic. In a room, off to the side of the fun, we had tables set up for the card players and a few WII systems for the kids.
Saturday morning meant golf and line dance lessons. We also went horseback riding and did miniature golf with the kids.
The highlight of the reunion was the banquet that was held Saturday night. It was a black and white affair. Our chairperson handed over the reigns to the next generation. We hired a professional photographer who took pictures of us. It was fantastic! We printed out a huge family tree and hung it in the banquet hall so that everyone could connect how we were related. It was fun since some of us are double cousins. We danced well into the night.
Sunday morning meant praises as we had church right there in the hotel. The pastor sent up a word and the family reunion praise team along with the Mill Creek Baptist Church Choir did their thing.
Sunday afternoon we had our picnic with all of the best picnic food you could dream of. The kids played games, in the hot sun, and won lots of prizes.
We settled down Sunday afternoon and lazily hung around the resort, playing cards, telling stories, swimming, and eating plenty of ice cream from the Big Bear.
I love going to the family reunion, seeing my people, and sharing fun times.
Can't wait until next year.
Peace and Blessings.
