We've held several fundraisers, though the most profitable has been the family cookbook we compiled using one of those professional community cookbook companies for publishing. We've also held raffles such as 10 lbs. jumbo shrimp (which we got donated), car washes (which proved a lot of work for little return), and Friday afternoon lunch plate sales (also a lot of work, but profitable as well).

And no, we don't have a special fund set aside to aid family members in payment of reunion fees, though the 2004 reunion committee decided not to charge any Allen descendant under 3 years or over a certain age (75 or 80, I can't remember which) to encourage our elderly members to attend without financial hardship.
