My family is about to embark on a very special reunion (See http://www.BarrDescendants.org), bringing together family members whose ancestors were forcibly separated 150 years ago. This will be our first time coming together since the genealogical discovery in 2003 that led me to find my great-great-grandfather's family, of whom he was sold away from in 1859, and their living descendants. Despite the economy, the planning is going really well. The committee has been awesome, and we meet monthly. The reunion is 3 months away, and we already have close to 40 rooms booked, registrations coming in weekly, and MANY more family members have yet to book their rooms. So, that is telling us that it is going to be well-attended. We were indeed worried at first, considering how the economy took a nose dive. But all we can do is leave it in God's hands.
