Hi Carmen, one year we did like Mel's family. The memorial that I remember most is the year that we hosted in my state. We honored all of our deceased, but we only called out the names of the one that passed since the last reunion. We had one big elaborate candle sitting on a table in front, at the beginning of the banquet the lights were dimmed and the youngest person that could safely walk with a lighted candle walked from the back of the room while an appropriate song was being sung to light the candle which burned through the banquet. Obits of the deceased were placed on the table. At the end of the banquet the lights were dimmed, the child lit his candle from the mem one, extinguished the candle on the table, collected the obits and walked slowly out of the room. The song from the movie Cornbread, Earl and Me was sung, I can't think of the title. When the lights came on you could feel the emotions that were in that room. People were crying, laughing and hugging everyone they could get to. It was very moving.
