We have a memorial tribute at my reunions. One year during the banquet, we set up a table in the front with a number of candles. During our memorial tribute, the MC dimmed the lights, asked (or designated) someone at each table to come and light a candle in honor of the most recently deceased family members of the people from their table, and as each person lite a candle, he or she called out the names of those individuals, saying "I light a candle in honor and memory of ______". The pianist was playing appropriate music during this memorial tribute. It is usually very touching. The MC starts the tribute with a few appropriate words about the loved ones who have passed.
