Do the elders ever suggest that the younger family members plan the family reunion?

When I was young my mother, aunts, and uncles used to plan the family reunions. Before I helped plan our 2003 reunion, my mother told me and my cousins, "We're getting older now and we can't get around like we used so it's time for you young people to start planning the family reunions".

So me and my cousins got together and planned the reunion and it was a success.
