My family reunion went on a carnival cruise in 2005. It was the best reunion to date. There is something for everyone to do, a family oriented cruise line and they had reasonable all inclusive prices. We were able to get meeting rooms etc for business meeting on the ship as well. We had some resistance at the previous reunion and concerns about how expensive the cruise might be, however we ended up having the most number of participants. we worked directly with the cruise line to arrange the cruise for us and there was little work envolved compared to a traditional reunion where you are literally "working the entire weekend" and not able to "enjoy" yourself.
