Re: Displaying the family tree.

Richard, I agree whole-heartedly, the one tree concept is a little too much for that many people & generations. Truly a one-time effort.
I also produced a "book" in a narrative format from the raw data using the Roots Magic program which I like much better than the Tree. The program breaks the descendants out by generation starting with gen #1 ...Lewis & Susan Adams, then gen #2, their children w/spouses and children, gen #3 grandchildren w/spouses and children and so forth. This format allows you to have a thumbnail photo attached to the biographical sketch for each person. Each person's bio starts with their direct in-line Adams ancestors w/generational # and then their information, including notes, if you care to print them.. Each generation starts on a new page. You can also create an index which shows every page where a person is located. I also did a table of contents, preface & dedication page. This book can be generated in PDF format and/or saved to a CD for distribution to those family members who would like a copy. A very handy way to get the family genealogical data into the hands of as many family members as possible. Art Thomas p.s. I also have the laptop ready for those on the spot updates which allows for an immediately updated PDF file which can be emailed to family members for later printing.
