Buckley Family Reunion
July 25, 26 & 27 2008
Atlanta, GA

In 1829 in Covington County, Mississippi, a Negro boy was given to a Nellie Ann Wiggins by her father, Jeff Wiggins, and that boy's name was Riley.

Noel Story Buckley married Nellie Ann Wiggins, so her slave boy Riley became Riley Buckley. In that same year, November 1829, Noel Buckley bought a Negro girl. Her name was Siller and she was ten years old. While married to Nellie Ann, Noel Buckley and his slave girl Siller produced a child who they named Lucretia.

After the Civil War, Lucretia married Riley Buckley, and Riley and Lucretia Buckley had five sons. They were Hardy, John, Riley, Jesse and George. And they had two daughters: Elethia [?] and Colia [?]. All this was in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi – Prentiss.

We are the desendants of Riley Buckley.
