Re: When Family Members Don't Respond
In Response To: When Family Members Don't Respond ()
Just a little suggestion: Heres how we got the word out for our May 2007 Gibbs family reunion in SC. We have a large family so some of my first cousins were responsible for mailing out letters to the family. Ex, My cousin Cheryl mailed letters to me, her brothers and other cousins. Once I received my letter I made copies and mailed them to my mother, brother and sister. (Pass it on) If they have children outside of the home it was their job to notify them.
After a week or 2 I would contact my members and see if they wanted to attend. I would then report back to Cheryl who would report back to the main committee. This helped alot because all of the work didn't fall on one person. We had over 100 people attend and we can't wait for our next in 2009.
Hopefully you will continue with your plans and maybe this suggestion may help you with your reunion. Maybe your mother and other members of your family can help you out with this HUGE project, if asked. Good Luck 2 U
