Word puzzles are a great ice breaker! I used one at our 2002 reunion and had teams of ten work on them (they were all seated at the same table for ten). The first three groups to finish correctly received a prize.

Clues included not only names of ancestors, but also cultural facts about the three areas we settled in. For example, one question went something like: "One of the three colors of the Bahamian flag." or "This Caribbean shellfish is often cooked in fritters." Another was: "Number of offspring born of William & Addie Allen." Stuff like that.

It was a lot of fun, people learned a lot, and several requested additional copies for keepsakes. It took the first team about 15 minutes to finish, and it was time well spent. ;-)
