My name is Ellen Parlapiano, and I'm a writer and contributing editor at Family Circle magazine in NY. We are looking for African American family reunions to feature in our summer issue. Here's what we're looking for:

For Family Circle magazine, I am looking to feature U.S. African American family reunions--especially those with a cool, out-of-the-ordinary twist. For example, perhaps your family reunion is going to somehow benefit a good cause (maybe by raising money or other types of donations for a charity that's meaningful to the family). Maybe you will share family artifacts or cook up family recipes. Perhaps your reunion is devoted to family health…maybe you all participate in fitness activities. As you can see, we're looking for UNIQUE family reunions—these are just some ideas, but we're open to any ideas.

Ideally, the reunion should be happening between November and January, but we're a bit flexible on that. We will probably want to send a photographer to shoot the event.
