Hi all-I'm just beginning to research my mom's Crockett family. My Mom was almeta Virginia Crockett-her bro. was Benjamin Harrison Crockett of chicago-My Mom passed at 85 years old -here in North Jersey in 2001-Uncle Ben passed in 2003 at the age of 89. Their father was Benjamin H. Crockett Sr.-He was an attorney in Chicago duing the 1940's and 50's. My maternal great grandparents were Milton Green Crockett and Laura Winter Crockett of Litchfield,Illinois. milton Green Crockett was supposed to have purchased his own freedom in Canton, Miss. and went into "business " with some Jewish entrepreneurs in Litchfield,Il in the 1860's?. He hhad siblings in Canton who settled in other parts of Illinosi. This is all I know. My parents and only sibling are deceased. I have 1 aunt-Lois R. Crockett-a retired teacher in Chicago and 1 first cousin BenjaminH. Crockett,the 3rd-a retired businessman-also in illinois. The crocketts from Miss. supposedly had a family member with flat feet- who "shuffled". That's it-Any suggestions? I've never met any other living Ctocketts-thanks-Karen in Hackensack,NJ
