Shirese, you can NEVER be too late to a family tree party because one never knows where that next big clue will come from. The earliest trace I have of my Roberson's is 1870 and both brothers, my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather Henry ROBERSON and his brother Anderson were both born in TN (both wives from AL) but as you can see they had made their way to Mt. Pleasant, Upshur County, Texas by 1870. Both were still there in 1880 with only Anderson remaining as late as 1900. By the time of the 1900 Census Henry would have been about 65.
Do you know who were the parents of Roosevelt ROBERSON? Since so far, large families seem to run on both sides of my mother's family it's possible that Henry and Anderson had another brother or a sister? They left TN and must have passed thru AL since their wives were from there so they would definitely have had to cross MS as well?
Really interested to see what other information you may have? I love finding new threads.
Do you have a picture of Roosevelt? I have a picture of one of Henry's sons, Early ROBERSON on my Blog. If you want to peek at it for possible resemblances it's in a piece titled "Feet Don't Fail Me Now". The picture includes his wife, Dora and their children.
Practically all of Henry's children eventually moved to Harrison Co., Marshall, TX following their oldest sister, Sallie ROBERSON Norris, my Gr Gr Grandmother.
