I have found that by-laws that work for some doesnot work for others. My family talked about establishing an executive board but when we looked into the responsibilities and duties of the executive board/committees they BALKED! We already have rules and procedures (our simplied by-laws) established and they seem to work well for my family. We have state coordinators and a national coordinator. At our reunions the national coordinator holds a meeting that is open to all. The state coordinators are the official represenative for their own state and the voice of that state. The states do not want control of the reunion that they are hosting taken completely away from them by people that could very well possible not be from their state. What we have been working with has worked for us since 1999 and very well I might add. We just had our 15th bi-annual reunion and it was a tremendous success. Will post more on that later.
