Nevertheless, since this post, my family coincidently has decided to revisit this issue as well. Our family reunion is expanding, incorporating other branches, and we've decided that the need has come to lay down a constitution/by-laws.

Just as an update, we've decided to ask the current chairperson and co-chairperson and previous reunion chairs/co-chairs to agree to meet informally for the expressed purpose of drafting a family reunion constitution to be approved by the Family Reunion body at our 2008 reunion. We will let the approved constitution dictate who will serve as members of the Executive Committee, the function of the Executive Committee, and when the Executive Committee will meet.

We feel that this is the best way to proceed with setting up our Executive Committee and our constitution. Have you gotten any good examples of by-laws or a reunion constitution as a guide?
