The Pettiford reunion was founded by Joseph and Martha Weaver Pettiford(seated in the front row). Joseph is the grandson of Edmund and Sarah Carter Pettiford who were free people of color from Granville, North Carolina.

Martha and Jospeh had 18 children most of who are pictured in this photo.

The Pettiford have continued the tradition of the reunion for more than 80 years and this year we celebrated our 85th year of the reunion. I will be sending the picture of this years reunion in another e-mail. Thanks in advance for posting this picture.
