I remember seeing a made-for-TV movie several years ago about a black man's account of a family reunion one year. As soon as they arrived, both he and the other families, who happened to be white, had serious doubts about their possible connection. However, they stayed the whole two days, shared family stories, and even after realizing they probably were not connected by blood, they all hit it off so well they all became friends for life. Welcome them, as Mel suggests. This could be an awesome familial adventure for all.
If you find out later they are not exactly connected by blood, your open-arms welcome should definitely make them friends for life. The ancestors...and their friends...are watching. God bless!
