I agree with Melvin. In 1999, I attempted to bring all families who carried the Stith surname together because we were all from the same county in VA, had the same Christian names, but had never been able to prove a connection. Til this day, I still haven't proven a connection, but it is nice to be able to compare notes, etc.

Also, some of the older members of the families whose memories are not so good might remember some important family info on one day that they might not remember on another. The day of the reunion might be that day.

PS What I also did for our reunion was to send out a genealogy questionnaire to all families. This might be another way to determine a connection.
