Talk to the eldest family members there. See what they remember about the ancestors. Sometimes, other relatives may relay interesting things that your immediate family members have not told you or was unaware of. Get an idea of the ancestors' lives by conversations with them.

If there are family lines that you have been unclear about, maybe those family members can shed some light.

I would say just ask the normal genealogical questions you may have already asked your known family members. Get names, places, interesting tales, pictures (if possible...take a scanner and a laptop. ), and etc.
