The reason was simple, the runion planners anf funders all lived in the county. Actually it was rather an odd thing that several branches of my family that originated in Fayetteville, NC, ended up living in Maryland, and particularly in PG County. We discovered that we lived less than 10 miles from a "missing" branch of the family. Subsequent meetings turned up someone from another 19th Fayetteville branch of the family that migrated to Bessemer, AL after the American Revolution. So PG county was the logical place to meet.
