In Response To: HBCUs: Historically Black Colleges & Universities (Jay)
Hi Jay, as you can see in the prior posted link , I found where my paternal gr-grandfather James D Daviss graduated from Meharry in the class of 1891. This was very enlightening because I had always heard that he attended both Tuskeegee and Meharry. I have yet to find the Tuskeegee connection but I am still working on it. Bishop College that was located in Marshall Texas prior to moving to Dallas is another story. The records from what I understand consist only of an indez that is maintained by a fellow at Paul Quinn and those were only for later years. My Maternal great grandfather Joseph P Taylor I am told, entered in 1893 for a while, reentered, and graduated in 1899. I would love to get documented proof of this so if anyone has any suggestions Messages In This Thread
