I recently visited the National Archives in Washington DC to perform research using the Freedmen Bureau records. I created a document that summarizes information from the labor contracts of the Bowling Green (Caroline County) Field Office. The document also cross references the names in the labor contracts with the information from the Register of Colored Persons of Caroline County, State of Virginia, cohabitating together and husband and wife on 27th February, 1866 that was also created by the Freedmen's Bureau.
