Two new books have been published about the Colfax Massacre and its meaning in US history, with one focusing on the Supreme Court decision about application of the 1870 Enforcement Act. (They are listed in the wikipedia article.)

In addition, in 2007 a group formed the Red River Heritage Association (www.rrha.org), with the intention of establishing an archives and museum in Colfax for research and study of Reconstruction history, especially in Louisiana and the Red River area.
