Additional material and sources have been added to the Wikipedia article "Colfax Massacre". In addition, an unsourced entry at "Colfax, Louisiana" on Wikipedia notes that "plans are underway" to have a memorial and interpretation at the courthouse site about the events of that Easter Sunday in 1873. I put a note on the Talk page asking if this was a state, local or Federal effort. It deserves to be a National Historic Landmark. The current courthouse was built in 1962, before there were laws about archaeological investigation. While the site has been disturbed, an archaeological study would be valuable.
